Initial Consultation with Dr Mark Doyle

Before your consultation

Before your plastic surgery consultation, we ask that you send us images of your area of concern. Our friendly patient care team will advise you on how to take the images and from what angles. Then, Dr Doyle will review your images before your consultation and advise whether or not surgery is the best option for you.

What can I expect at my first visit with Dr Doyle?

At your initial consultation with your plastic surgeon, you’ll be invited to share information about your area of concern and your desired result. Dr Doyle will assess this along with any information you provide him to provide an honest, professional opinion about your surgical options. The potential risks and complications will be explained to you in detail, as well as how to minimise these from occurring.

In your first appointment you will:

  • Spend time with your surgeon, nurse and patient coordinator
  • Have your photos taken
  • Undergo a physical assessment
  • Discuss your medical history (including any medications and supplements you’re currently taking)
  • See before and after photos of previous patients
  • Explore your recommended surgical options
  • Learn about your surgery in more detail
  • Explore associated risks and complications
  • Choose size options (for augmentation procedures)
  • View expected results with Crisalix 3D imaging (for selected procedures)
  • Find out pricing and potential surgery dates
  • Get all your questions answered

Your initial appointment should take 1 hour. This allows time for you to develop a strong relationship with your surgeon and your patient coordinator.

Initial Consultation

You are more than welcome to bring along a supportive relative or friend to meet Dr Mark and help you decide which surgical option is best. We understand it can be difficult to take in all the information discussed during your first consultation so this person can help you to recall any important procedure information you may have missed.

All this information will be given to you on the day to take home, along with important consent forms which will explain the procedure details to consider before committing to surgery.

If you are unable to make it to our plastic surgery practice near the Coolangatta International Airport, Dr Mark offers video (FaceTime or Skype) consultations for regional or overseas patients. Dr Mark regularly sees patients from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Ballina, Lismore, Byron Bay, Tweed Heads and Northern Rivers. For patients that are travelling further and require local accommodation, you can view Dr Doyle’s recommendations on our travelling patients’ page.

Virtual Consultation Requirements

Dr Doyle offers Skype consultations to his patients that are unable to attend our Gold Coast practice. These consults are available by request.

Medicare and Surgery Pricing

Towards the end of your first consultation, the Doyle team will provide you with an estimate of fees and answer any cost enquiries you may have. If there are Medicare item numbers applicable, Dr Doyle will advise his team to check if any Medicare or private health insurances rebates apply.

You can access our patient resources to find about more about the potential costs involved with your surgery:

If you decide to commit to surgery, our team will schedule in your procedure and accept the required deposit.

Pre-Operative Consultation

With all cosmetic procedures, a second complimentary consultation with Dr Mark is needed for planning, customisation and to review the details of your surgery. We encourage you to bring your signed consent forms along and be open to taking more photographs if they are required.

This is an in-person consult only. If you are a travelling patient we will arrange for this to occur within a close time frame of your procedure.
