Facelift Before and After

There are many facelift before and after photos on the Internet. But what is the most important information to know? It is the best way to determine if face lift surgery is right for you. You can check out the results of a facelift before and after surgery before deciding on any surgery. You can also read the patient reviews and and schedule a consultation to learn more about the process.

Facelift Before and After Photos

These particular facelift before and after photos features men and women six weeks after surgery. Results can be seen in the jawline and neck. They are still recovering from surgery, but are overjoyed with their natural looking results.

Dr Doyle performed a mid-face lift, and used a mini lift technique. He also tightened the neck muscles and reduced excess fat. This procedure has a more dramatic effect than a mini face lift.

Before and After Facelift

Facelift surgery helps you to achieve a younger and tighter appearance around the lower face and neck. This procedure combats the ageing of the face that occurs naturally over time. By targeting the skin and muscle, face lift surgery helps to improve skin elasticity, decrease fatty facial tissue and remove excess skin folds around your mouth, upper neck and under your chin.

Dr Mark Doyle is one of the best plastic surgeons in Queensland that offers Face Lift Surgery to all patients around QLD and North NSW.

As shown above in facelift before and after photos, this cosmetic procedure results in a natural tightness of the face which helps you to appear more radiant. What to Look for In Facelift Before and After photos?

When reviewing before and after cosmetic surgery images, it’s important to know what you’re looking for. Real patient results and image galleries can help you to identify a cosmetic surgeon’s skill and experience, and understand the results you might expect from this surgeon. To make the most out of your before and after image gallery viewing, here are some tips to follow:

1. Search for “before” images that appear similar to you

There’s no point idealising someone else’s images if they have a completely different face shape from you. By searching for patient photos with similar jowls and facial features to you, you can begin to compile your favourite after images.

Take note of patients with similar concerns to you and assess whether you would be satisfied with their post-surgery result.  This can help identify whether or not your surgeon can achieve your aesthetic goals for your surgery.

2. Look for natural and varied results

Skilled surgeons have the ability to adapt their surgical technique and outcome to complement each patient’s facial anatomy. When searching through before and after images of facial patients, look for results that appear natural, symmetrical, and not overdone.

3. Strategically placed scars

When you are looking at each surgeon’s before and after real patient galleries, note what the patients’ scars look like, particularly their size and location. While some variation is expected, most patients’ scars should be difficult to detect. Specialist Plastic Surgeon, Dr Doyle, conceals the incisions by the hairline and natural contours of the face and ear.

4. Learn to recognize new vs. final results

Some cosmetic surgeons take “after” photos sooner than others—sometimes as soon as a month or two after surgery. Unfortunately, these early after pictures can give the impression of subpar results, even though in reality the patient’s results are still taking shape. Some signs of too-fresh results include:

  • Conspicuous scars that are still bright pink or red
  • Visible swelling, skin discolouration, or asymmetry

If you like much of that surgeon’s work, but notice that many before and after photos look like they may be “too fresh,” ask the surgeon when the patients’ photos were taken. In general, “after” photos taken 6 months or more after surgery will give you the best indication of how a patient’s final results will look.

5. Ask to view before and after photos during your consultation too

Many patients have great surgical results and are happy to show them, they just prefer that they are not posted on the internet. So, as well as viewing before and after facelift photos online, ask to view real patients before and after image galleries during your plastic surgery consultation too.

Recovery After Facelift Surgery

You’ll likely need 2-3 weeks off work following your surgery surgery to ensure a quality recovery.  We will provide you with post-operative care instructions which you should follow EXACTLY to ensure you are not straining your wounds.

Best practice cosmetic surgery recovery tips, which include an adequate wound healing diet and the use of supplements is good to follow. It’s important to do your research before undergoing surgery so that you know what’s normal and what’s not with your recovery.

What are the risks involved with facelift surgery?

All surgery involves risks. Any surgical procedure carries some risk of infection, severe bruising, or reaction to anesthesia. In the case of face surgery, there is the potential for bleeding, scarring, asymmetry, loss of hair at the incision site and nerve damage. The occurrence of these incidents are rare. Smoking increases these risks dramatically.

These complications can mostly be avoided by following post-operative instructions.  Find out more in our guide or on our General Risks of Surgery page.

Facelift Pricing

How much does a Facelift cost?

The cost of a facelift is variable because each patient has specific goals and requirements. Once a tailored approach has been decided on, surgeon, anesthetist and hospital fees will also be factored into the final cost of the surgery. Since a facelift is a cosmetic procedure, it won’t qualify for a Medicare rebate. However, if the facelift is required for medical reasons such as after an accident or trauma, some of the costs may be covered. The only way to receive an accurate surgical estimate is to schedule a consultation.

Facelift FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions About Facelift

What is the best age to get a facelift?

A facelift often works well for people in their 40s and up to their 60s when signs of aging begin to become prevalent. The deep lines, wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin that results from the aging process can be best corrected through surgical ‘lifting’ techniques.

Full facelift isn’t recommended for patients under 30 as they’re unlikely to show significant facial sagging. Any signs of ageing at 30 may be treated with non-surgical alternatives.

How long do the results of facelift surgery last?

Many people are under the impression that facelift results are permanent. This isn’t quite true. With the effects of aging and gravity, the facial skin can droop again. However, because you have less skin on your face following surgery, your face will sag far less than it would have if you didn’t get a facelift. You may look more rested after having a facelift than compared to having never had a facelift.

In general, the results of a face-lift can be expected to last 10-15 years.

Do I need to wear a post-surgery facial compression garment?

Yes. Wearing a facial garment helps to fight the forces of gravity immediately after surgery and helps to reduce any swelling. It also keeps the wound clean, allowing the wound to heal while limiting the extent of scarring.

How long do I need to wear this facial garment / chin strap?

It’s recommended that you wear the chin strap continuously for the first five days following the surgery and intermittently for two weeks after surgery. We will provide you with instructions on when you can remove it (ie. for showering or eating). It is best to follow his post-operative advice exactly.
